Environmental Project Engineer (DCO Experience, Client Side) – Staff
Location: London
This is an excellent opportunity to work for a global leading client organization on a major clean energy project. Our client is looking for an Environmental Engineer with a previous DCO experience and a driven, can-do approach to managing project delivery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Working Client-side, responsible for reviewing environmental documentation from both the FEED contractor and environmental specialists / consultancies.
- Responsible for supporting the environmental aspect of the DCO (Development Consent Order) application and then seeing it through to approval.
- Co-ordinating and leading the delivery of EIAs as part of the DCO process.
- Management of Environmental consultants to develop Environmental documentation.
- Maintained oversight of agreements, criteria, and conditions outlined in the DCO, and collaborated with stakeholders, individual packages, and the Consent team to ensure technical compliance.
- Support the Land Strategy Team in the Land Acquisition process.
- Ensure environmental compliance as part of the application process.
- Responsible for technical review of gaps in scope of work delivered by the FEED contractor.
- Maintain and update the risk register, DCO consent register and other required trackers.
- Review progress and cost reports from DCO consultants.
- Maintain and further develop relationships with key stakeholders on projects.
- Produce progress reports and lead progress meetings with clients and internal team.
- Checking of project deliverables including drawings, schedules, datasheets, specifications.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Must be degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline, chartered status desired but not essential.
- Experience of supporting DCO applications is preferred though our client will also consider people who have delivered EIAs on large, complex projects.
- Previous experience working in a Client-side role is highly advantageous.
- Previously worked on projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy industries.
- Experience in other major energy such as Energy from Waste or similar will also be highly advantageous.
