Instrument Technician – Contract – West Wales
Location: West Wales
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy and Nuclear sectors. The role will be working as part of the client organization on site supporting upgrade and modifications to a live energy plant. The successful person must have CompEx EX 01-04.
The role is outside IR35.
Role & Responsibilities
- Site based role integrated as part of the client design team on a live operational hydrocarbon processing plant.
- Primary function is the maintenance and compliance with statutory and preventative inspection of Electrical, control and instrumentation assets, to ensure continued safe and reliable operations of the plant.
- Install, repair, calibrate, refurbish and replace complex instrumentation assets.
- Fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and reactive maintenance activities on a range of operational C&I Assets to ensure the safe and efficient operation.
- This includes a range of Instrumentation, (Flow, Pressure, Level and Temperature Sensors), along with Gas Analysers, PLC Systems, HMI’s & Telemetry Systems
- Support the servicing of Fire & Gas Detection and Safety Systems.
- Liaison with Electrical, C&I, Gas Field, or Engine Technicians from other operational teams, working to assist each other in resolving issues and sharing information.
- Supervising and directing Approved Contractors on site who may be attending for the install, repair, or maintenance of Electrical, Control, Instrumentation or Automation Systems.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Must be qualified to ONC / HNC as a minimum.
- Experience of C&I engineering documentation.
- CompEx EX 01-04 is essential.
- Experience of PLC and DCS systems.
- Must have proven experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Renewable Energy sectors or similar.
Additional Information
- The role will be working 40 hours p/w, on a 9 day fortnight.
- The role will be outside IR35.
