Project Manager – Contract- Wales
Location: West Wales
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing engineering business operating in the energy sector; covering both hydrocarbons and green / renewable energy projects during a ground breaking EPC project.
Role & Responsibilities
- Acting as the key interface between the contractor and the Client during the EPC phase to drive project execution and contract strategy.
- Accountable for the main Contract and overall accountability for the process licensor contracts to ensure they are delivered on schedule, on budget and in full technical compliance in conjunction with the engineering team.
- Contract Management – ensuring the licensors/contractors execute their works in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Change Management – manage and negotiate changes.
- Schedule Management – Driving the schedule to ensure on time delivery and reporting progress.
- Cost Management – Managing costs to ensure budget delivery.
- Cost reporting, invoicing, payments and change management.
- Interface Management – overseeing the interface with Worley and other stakeholders.
- Engineering Management – oversight and management of the interface with the Alfanar engineering team.
- Risk Management – actively manage execution risks.
- Management of Projects from early phases through installment, commissioning and handover.
- The role will be overseeing the full transformation of a plant to a full operating capability.
- Developing and supporting the implementation of details work plans, including remedial changes and repairs.
- Checking the quality of subcontractor design work to ensure compliance with agreed client design specifications.
- Produce budget costs and cash flow projections for projects.
- Plan, schedule and steward progress on engineering projects.
- Ensure that issues relating to HSE are effectively managed, in line with the clients’ policies and procedures.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Must be degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline, chartered status desired but not essential.
- Previously worked in the Oil & Gas or Renewable Energy industries.
- Must have power plant build / refurb / commissioning / re-commissioning experience.
- Being a pro-active, independent self-starter is also essential.
- The role will be overseeing the full transformation of a plant to a full operating capability.
