Solid Works Designer – Staff – Aberdeen / Remote Working

Location: Aberdeen / Remote Working

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy and Nuclear sectors. Our client is based in Aberdeen but the role will be working remotely / from home, though there will be an initial period in the clients office at the start of employment to help familiarisation and occasional business trips. All travel costs will be covered by our client.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Generating detailed models of bespoke equipment for major internal clients using Solid Works.
  • Creating innovative designs, drafts, or presentations that meet customer expectations.
  • Ensuring design quality and that design directives and international standards are followed.
  • Coordinate with sales to offer a solution based on the client’s specification.
  • Supporting other teams within the business with product and material property testing.
  • Writing test specification for various project scopes.
  • Bespoke products being developed include moulded and machined polymer products.
  • Working potentially on multiple projects at any given time.

 

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Degree or similar qualification in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Expertise in design of polymer products both moulded and machined is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency with using Solid Works is essential.
  • Must have experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Renewable Energy or Nuclear sector.
